PROTRIP-WORLD-H is a group contract solution providing insurance cover for members of the LAC (Living Abroad Community e. V.) and for participants of affiliate partner companies and organisations during trips abroad.

What is required to qualify for PROTRIP-WORLD-H?

You can be insured through PROTRIP-WORLD-H if you meet the following requirements:

  • You are a member of the group of insurable individuals mentioned below.
  • You are from Europe and travel other countries worldwide for a longer period of time or you are coming from abroad and reside in Germany or other EU-member states for a prolonged period of time.

Insurable group of people

To qualify for PROTRIP-WORLD-H, the main purpose of your stay abroad needs to be further education abroad. It is considered to be further education abroad if you take part in an exchange programme as:

  • student and doctoral student,
  • Erasmus Plus participant,
  • trainee,
  • language and exchange student or
  • au pair.

If the main purpose of your stay abroad is further education, insurance cover will also exist during any periods without further education within the insurance period applied for. Accompanying family members of the insured person are insurable against their own premium.

2. By mail or fax

You can also download the application form (PDF file) , print it and send us the filled in form. You will then promptly receive your insurance certificate.

Start of insurance

Insurance cover is provided for the period mentioned in the insurance certificate.
If application and payment take place prior to the start of the journey, insurance cover will begin at the start of the stay abroad (when the insured person leaves his/her home country).
If application and payment take place after the start of the journey, insurance cover will begin on the date we receive your application and premium payment.
Insured events that occurred prior to the start of insurance cover are not covered.

End of insurance

Insurance ends automatically on the agreed date. Insurance cover ends on the same date, but not later than at the end of the stay abroad.
